Inventor Dr. Cullen Sabin, has developed a self-cooling beer can that will undergo consumer testing this Summer and should be on supermarket shelves soon. Dr. Cullen says that the temperature of the drink drops by a minimum of 30° Fahrenheit (16.7° C) in four minutes and stays cold for up to an hour. The can acts like a miniature refrigerator, drawing heat from the top of the can where the beer is, and dumping it in a heat sink at the bottom of the can.
